Default Help me please...

This year is a learning process for me and I need some help with something. In the fall other than racking leaves what else is it to do? I know a little about cleaning gutters but all I know to do is climb on a ladder and pull out the leaves. Whatelse do I need to clean a gutter other than a ladder? Mind that im on a low-budget....Also I leave in the east coast and I dont know nothing about chargeing for fall-clean ups so some tips on that would also be great.. thank you

How to get lawn care customers - Vol 2
Hi,

I have found that the best way to clean out gutters is with a blower....Back Pack prefered.

Charging for a leaf clean-up is like monopoly. Customers love to try and get the job done at a very cheap price...However, you have to think about several things when you do the estimate.

1. Are all the leaves off the trees?

2. How large is the property?

3. Do they want you to rid them or blow them into the woods?

4. How long is it going to take to complete the work?

There are many options out there and leafe clean-up is alot of work. So, charge by the hour for one and charge extra if they want you to take it away.

Lightbulb Autumn lawn care work.

Cleaning gutters is definately big business for the next few months. Cleaning gutters can be dangerous though so be sure to follow all safety regulations including fall protection.

Don't stop at simply cleaning the gutters though. Offer a free inspection. If you find loose fasteners you can replace them. If there is a leak at a joint, offer to repair it. You can also offer to install gutter leaf guards.

The list is endless. You can make tons of money between now and the end of the year if you price it right.

Good luck and let us know if you have further questions:

Do you have a gas powered blower? Electric will work (if you have tons of cord) But the fastest way is to just get up on the roof and blow them out of the gutter. If you have a powerful gas blower be careful on the trigger as 283 mph wind from a gas blower will tear off the gutters. Then once you have the gutters cleaned out treat the job like any other kind of leaf removal service. If you don't have a blower i would suggest biting the bullet and buying a cheaper Craftsman gas powered. It will pay its self off in the fall very fast. I gurentee!

Did you ever think of fabricating something out of pvc pipe so you could blow leaves out of the gutter while standing on the ground?

Something like this?
